The leavetaking of Beryl
there are at least seven distinct works with this name, but the elves consider it all just one story, and do not distinguish between the variant texts.
Some interpretations follow;
a long and indistinct telling of the first elf to stave off the grief-death by (going into the west)
or a telling of “the last of all elves” journey (into the west)
or a hint of when elves will return to the world
the least accepted interpretation is of a trickster elf who plays increasingly cruel jokes upon a dwarf, until the drawf is so mad he tries to kill the elf in his sleep, but kills his Dragon master instead. Perhaps starting the dwarven insurrection.
